Sukiyaki Western Django Trailer

Sukiyaki Western Django is a 2007 film by Japanese director Takashi Miike.  It pays homage to the 1966 Sergio Corbucci film, Django, and contains many classic spaghetti western elements such as the “man with no name” character and gunslinging.  Despite the Japanese cast, spoken English is used throughout the film.

Quentin Tarantino has a cameo in Sukiyaki Western Django, and claims that this movie was an influence while writing Django Unchained.  Watch the trailer below:

Quentin Tarantino wants Lady Gaga in Django Unchained

lady gaga django unchained
Quentin Tarantino wants to give Lady Gaga a part in Django Unchained.   Tarantino is said to be a huge fan of Lady Gaga’s outrageousness, and wants to somehow include her in the movie. Further fueling these rumors is the fact that Tarantino and Lady Gaga have been spending time together at Cannes, with Tarantino introducing her to his A-list celebrity friends.  According to the Daily Mirror:

My insider tells me: “It’s no secret Quentin’s been eyeing up Gaga for a role in one of his up-and-coming films.  And now they’re both in Cannes, he’s keen to show off his movie star credentials.”

Quentin Tarantino and Lady Gaga have collaborated in the past.  Tarantino advised her on the production of her music video, Telephone, and even let her use the Pussy Wagon from Kill Bill.  Lady Gaga would be a great addition to the Django Unchained cast.  To lift a quote from the Daily Mirror,

Let’s face it, the king of dark humour and screen violence and the queen of kook would be a marriage made in celluloid heaven.

Django Trailer

Django is a spaghetti western movie by director Sergio Corbucci. Produced in 1966, Django was considered at the time to be one of the most violent films ever made. Django is said to be a major influence on Django Unchained (obviously–just look at the name!).  There is even speculation that Franco Nero, who played the eponymous character, will be involved in Django Unchained in some capacity.
