A recent Quentin Tarantino interview with UK Total Film has lit up the internet with rumors about a possible trilogy involving Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained.
Taking up a serious expression towards the end of our conversation, he explained: “I don’t know, Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained bespeak a trilogy. “As different as they are, there is a companion piece quality. There might very well be a third one. I just don’t know what it is yet.”
If you’re wondering how the two films could possibly be lumped together in a trilogy, indieWIRE has a succinct explanation:
It’s not too difficult to see what he’s talking about, the two films being violent, stylized period pieces with a subtext of social injustice. And that’s not to mention actor Christoph Waltz, who has major roles in both.
My personal take on this new bit of information? I think we should heed Tarantino’s words before delving into wild speculation about what the final film in this trilogy will be about: ”I just don’t know what it is yet.” If the man himself doesn’t even know what his next move is, then we sure as hell don’t.

This guy (http://www.themaninthemoviehat.com/inglourious-basterds-django-unchained-tarantino-trilogy/) thinks maybe the third film in the trilogy might be a Native American film.
